Long weekend at Meersburg on Lake Constance

Max, Mark and I spent a lovely long weekend on the lake. On Saturday we went to the Pile Dwellings in Unteruhldingen and walked around Meersburg.

On Sunday we took the ferry over to Konstanz to Sea Life. Not much else was open other than eating places as it was Sunday. We also played a challenging game of mini golf.

On Monday we went to the Island of Mainau and walked among the beautiful flowers. Max met a few kids we think from France and had a great time playing at the playground.

On Tuesday we toured the tiny Zeppelin museum and walked a bit more around the town before we headed home. Did you know that Count Zeppelin was born in Konstanz?

Oktoberfest

Max and I went to the Stuttgart fest. Lots of people, lots of rides, and lots of food and drinks. There were many beer tents. I lost track after 15. Tents is not really correct. These are temporary beer halls that hold hundreds of people. More than half the folks were in dirndls and lederhosen. Nice time. The noise of revelry and song spread from the tents to the surrounding area.
